EABM’s goal is to increase breastfeeding rates in Europe and Israel and improve support for breastfeeding women and breastfeeding babies.

Improving the knowledge and skills of breastfeeding assessment and therapeutic intervention among doctors in the various specialties.

Access to best-practices

Accessing the knowledge required to treat various medical conditions (even those not related to breastfeeding) that exist in breastfeeding women and breastfeeding babies, without harming breastfeeding.

Cooperation

Improving cooperation between all doctors and other professional consultants – nurses, lactation consultants and doctors specializing in breastfeeding medicine.

Lactation medicine

Establishing a specialty in lactation medicine in Europe.

Memberships & eligilibity

Standard membership

€30annually
  • MD or equivalent degree from an accredited school of medicine.
  • A current or past license to practice medicine in a European country or Israel

Student member

€10annually
  • To qualify as a Student Member one must be a medical student or a physician in full-time academic study or clinical training

Affiliate member

€30annually
  • To qualify as an Affiliate Member one must have some other fitting profile (e.g. PhD level researcher on a topic within breastfeeding medicine). The board will review your application.
